I could be pulling an irrelevant article but it seems pretty legit to me.Having read this, and the linked full licensing briefAs far as I can tell, both these links relate to the rights you have if you have volume licensing in place.'
What is reimaging? At a high level, if you have a Volume License (VL) agreement you are permitted to create an image 'Reimaging rights are granted to all Microsoft Volume Licensing customers'Therefore, as I understand it, and seems to be confirmed elsewhere on other blogs/sites etc, you can only do imaging if you have at lease one single VL in place. No VL = no deploying of images. It makes not difference if you're deploying an unchanged OEM image or a VL image, you cannot deploy images without the VL key.gee, isn't that what i said on page #1??you now have 24 hours invested in a conversation that has been had countless times on countless forums and the results are always the same.
Yet there is always someone who thinks they can circumvent the user agreement by some obscure loop hole. Listen, MS employees entire teams of software professionals and lawyers whose sole responsibilities are to ensure that you as a 'consumer' of their product can only do what they deem with specific products.
And we can sit here all day and say that it is 'Confusing' but it really isn't. Patperry wrote:Do you know if that works for Windows 7 as well as Windows 10?
I had one person try it, but was unsuccessful. He may not have done it correctly though is why I'm asking.Windows 10 should be completely OEM-agnostic. That is, download the ISO from Microsoft, use the Windows 7 key from a bare install and it will recognize the proper license type and install accordingly.EDIT: I noticed I said 'Windows 10' in my first post when I should have said 7. I edited it to correct. Yes, with Windows 7, you ought to be able to use the OEM key off the Microsoft COA, but it may not auto-activate.
