Rectangular Grid Tool Illustrator Cs5.5
I have a question!So I have an area 7.6 in. And apply a rectangular grid with 45 horizontal dividers and 38 vertical dividers with a.5pt stroke, basically creating a grid with.2 in.
I then applied a separate rectangular grid that has 90 horizontal dividers and 76 vertical dividers and with a.5pt stroke, creating a grid of.1 in. Squares.If I have both of those rectangular grids visible, they do not line up as they should except at the outermost edges.
Each of the.2 in. Squares should 'contain' four of the.1 in.

Illustrator:: Can't Move Objects With Selection Tool Sep 17, 2013So, I just installed Illustrator CC, which I now have on a trial license. About an hour ago, illustrator suddenly started refusing to move any objects while I'm in the Selection Tool. I can move the objects only in Free Transform.
I use hot keys a lot, so it's really slowing me down. I hit 'V' to click on and then move an object, and then it won't move. The arrows don't even show up to make that sort of action. Is there some way that I accidentally turned off the tool? If so, how do I turn it back on so I can work with it the way it was before? Nov 21, 2013When I use the direct selection tool to select multiple objects that also contain an image within a clipping set, occasionally the clipped image is included in the bounding box, even if it and its clipping mask are not selected. Selecting other objects includes them in the bounding box, but even after deselecting everything the bounding box around the image remains and the only way to remove it is to drag a handle (which resizes the image) and then undo the action.

Obviously this is annoying and seriously interrupts workflow. I've had this issue ever since CS4.
Jun 20, 2012If I have a number of shapes on top of each other, with, for example, a drop shadow on the top shape, whenever I try and select the shape below it (it is peeking out from beneath the top shape, so I click on this 'peeking' section of the shape to try and select it) I cannot - it just selects the top shape as the top shape's drop shadow is 'blocking' the shape below it. Make sense?How do I go about about remedying this? I seem to recall being able to tell Illustrator to ignore 'effects' when making selections in CS4, but cannot work out how to do this in CS5. And is there a way to refine the 'sensitivity' or selection radius when clicking to make selections?
Nov 24, 2013I have this problem with my selection tool i use to scale with my selection tool now all of a sudden i cant scale it gives me a block you can drag the object around but you can't scale the object for a fast scaling. Where do i change the setting of the selection tool back to scaling an object. Aug 22, 2012This morning, my Selection Tool (the filled-in arrow) is acting like a Direct Selection Tool (the hollow arrow), but only when I click and drag on a group. It ends up select the anchors within the group rather than the whole group itself.I've checked my preferences, quit and relaunched Illustrator a few times, and nothing seems to fix it.
The problem briefly went away a few minutes ago, but came back when I quit and relaunched for good measure.It's happening in Illustrator CS 5.1. I have CS6, and that version works fine, but I'm waiting on some plugins to be updated for it, so I'd like to use CS 5.1.

Iam not able to do that. I think i disabled something in my illustrator. Jun 14, 2012All of a sudden in the last two weeks I can no longer move my selection tool with my mouse. It will only move with the arrow keys. Also, I am unable to deselect by clicking the mouse, only by Ctrl+D or selecting another tool.

What I meant by snap is, for example, I'll move an object right beside the left end of the document, it'll snap.
And if ever I want to add a tiny bit of space between those two, I'll hold ctrl so it'll get rid of that 'snap' function.Since the time I upgraded to CS6 Extended, It was working fine for a while. I have a website called JoGuru Social Travel Network for which I need to edit it's logo. Now since the logo has many green and blue variation I can't select the area I need.I thought of changing the color of logo so that it looks refined but green color signifies travel and i can't think of using any other color.
It would have been easy to pick other color. For me Green is God. I must use that only. I also need to encorporate small road in it that defines journey to infinity. This tool use to work well before.

Oct 5, 2011I am a new user to paint.net, because the tool I used for complex image manipulation does not run on the OS of my new machine. Although I could easily purchase the newest version, I needed work on some pictures now. Paint.net was easily available and does most of the thins I need at the moment.
In addition, it is officially supported at my work place, so it's a good idea to learn how to use it.Paint.net has some great features and a cute UI, but there are some issues I would like to see improved. The one at the top of my list is the font preview. I am doing some text on a number of pictures and want to check out some fonts. Unfortunately I can't change the sample text in the font list (at least I do not know how).However, meanwhile I found a even better function (actually the way I would like to see it). When the font list is open, I can scroll through the list and the text will instantly updated.
Cool.Great thing would be to move the color picker out from the tool box into the color selection, so that it would be always available. Also it would be useful to not only pick one pixel sometimes but the average of a greater area.
Sep 17, 2012I am trying to find out if there is a way to select only the objects within a selection marquee? In AutoCAD you can make a selection window from left to right and only those objects entirely within the window are selected.
If you window from right to left all objects that are 'crossed' or touched by the window are selected. Is there a similar technique in Illustrator?Currently I have to select the objects, then go back and hold the shift key to deselect the object I don't want, or put objects on different layers then lock layers to prevent extra objects getting selected.In AutoCAD, my primary program, you simply draw a selection window, left or right, depending on what your next step would be.
No special tools or toggles or thinking ahead, it's just the primary selection process and very intuitive. Nov 28, 2012I constantly run into the problem that I have many objects and when I want to drag the selected object to move it around, the object laying in front / or on top of it will be grabbed and moved instead. How do I shortcutwise avoid to pick an unwanted object when I'm about to drag an object? Is there something like a key to hold, so that Illustrator understands that I want to move the already selected object only? Since that is a 100 times per day task and I can't always lock and unlock all other layer I'm working on too.
Well I could, but that would slow down working 100 times since it's not easy to identify / switch on of each layer in the layer list each time i pick another object. Oct 22, 2013Using CS5.When I try to move any object by selecting and then trying to drag, it won't let me. It allows me to drag while selected maybe half an inch before not moving anymore, and then snaps back to the original position anyway. I CAN move by using transform - move, or selecting and using arrow keys. When I restart my computer everything seems fine, but then it soon gives me this same problem.Also, when I'm having the object moving issue I also have problems with dropdown menus.
For example when printing, I can see the list of printers, but clicking them has no effect. Another example is the Preferences menu box, clicking 'Type' or 'Units' has no effect.
